Commission an Artist: Empowering Local Talent Through Fashion

At H-Studio, we believe that creativity deserves a platform—and artists deserve recognition, support, and fair compensation for their work. That’s why we launched the Commission an Artist initiative, a program dedicated to spotlighting emerging and talented artists by collaborating with them to showcase their work on our premium apparel.

Through this initiative, artists are fairly commissioned for every unique design they create, helping support their craft and empowering them to continue pursuing their passion. It’s more than fashion—it’s a movement to merge art and apparel while investing in South Africa’s creative future.

On 1 February 2024, our journey led us to a vibrant local art gallery in Johannesburg, brimming with the energy and creativity of young artists. Among them, Mo stood out—not just for his striking visual style, but for the depth and emotion woven into his work. We were deeply moved by his art and even more inspired after learning about his journey as an artist.

His story is as bold and beautiful as the canvases he creates. Driven by a love for storytelling and cultural expression, Mo’s work speaks to identity, resilience, and everyday life in South Africa. We knew immediately that he belonged in the H-Studio creative family.

Today, we’re proud to announce Mo as the latest artist in our Commission an Artist program. Through our collaboration, we’re bringing his powerful artwork to life on our clothing—transforming premium t-shirts into wearable canvases that carry a message.
